About Kate
Welcome! I’m Kate, and I help adults and couples build more connected, grounded, and fulfilling lives. I work primarily with adults and couples in their 20s, 30s, and 40s, many of whom are navigating anxiety, stress, and perinatal mental health challenges - including the complex transition to parenthood for first-time parents.
I see clients in-person in Chicago, as well as virtually throughout Illinois and DC. My approach is shaped by over a decade of working with families and children and four years in private practice supporting adults. I draw from narrative therapy, emotionally focused therapy, and psychodynamic techniques, helping clients make meaning of their experiences and deepen emotional insight. I’ve completed recent specialized training in grief, perinatal mental health, and emotionally-focused therapy. Utilizing an eclectic approach informed my specialized training ensures that together, we can help you feel more in tune with yourself and your relationships.
Outside the therapy room, I'm a parent, pet-parent, and city dweller. I understand first-hand how demanding and meaningful life can feel when you're doing your best to be present for others and yourself.

My Approach
I believe that therapy is not just about reducing symptoms but about helping you live a more authentic, connected, and meaningful life. My approach is:
- Collaborative: You are the expert on your life, and I bring expertise in moving through the therapy process. Together, we'll form a partnership focused on your growth and healing.
- Compassionate: Therapy should be a space free from judgment, where all parts of your experience are welcomed with warmth and understanding.
- Culturally Responsive: I recognize the importance of cultural identity and how it shapes our experiences; creating an inclusive space for all clients is my priority.
- Insight-oriented: We'll look beneath the surface of current struggles to understand the history, relationships, and inner dynamics related to them.
Whether you're seeking support through a difficult time, wanting to understand yourself better, or looking to transform your relationships, I'm here to support you on that journey.
